BIOGRAPHY
Janet’s abstract expressionist landscape paintings resonate with the rhythm and beat
of the Bay Area with its natural beauty of coastal waters, beaches, and majestic
landscapes. She has been artistically inspired by her life’s travel adventures
throughout the UnitedStates and globally as a military brat as well as a career
military service member. Her journey has been rich in history, beauty, and culture – of
both the people and the landscape.
Following her retirement from government service she utilized her veteran
educational benefits and completed a Master of Fine Arts degree at Academy of Art
University in San Francisco. RichardDiebenkorn, GerhardRichter, and Helen
Frankenthaler are a few of many abstract artists which have inspired her creativity as
she interprets what she sees and transforms these images and experiences into large
oil or acrylic abstract paintings. Janet also had the honor and privilege to study under
the Master of Abstract Interpretation Studies with Professor Carolyn Meyer.
Janet’sartistic goal is to push what is representational orr ealism into the abstract
realm creating an invitation for the viewer to observe and experience their own
interaction or interpretation of what they see, sense, and feel through her paintings of
San Francisco “ Bay Series”.
Janet presently lives and paints in both San Francisco, California and Destin, Florida.
